Bahrain National Museum is the first modern museum in Manama, Bahrain. It has rich historical collections and is home to artifacts from the ancient Dilmun civilization. It stands as a symbol of the kingdom’s rich cultural heritage and historical significance. It was Opened in 1988 and this museum showcases over 6,000 years of Bahrain’s history. This architectural landmark is designed by Danish architects, aimed to look aesthetic and symbolic. It is not just a museum but also a national cultural institution where exhibitions, educational programs, and international collaborations are hosted frequently. Unique collections include ancient burial mounds and the mummy of a man buried in a date-palm coffin is an authentic collection in the museum. One of the oldest Quran manuscripts is also displayed which was found in Bahrain.
