If you’ve ever longed to get lost in the cosmos, these 10 best places to stargaze in the world offer that perfect mix of stillness, wonder, and celestial magic.

Just beyond the glittering skyline of Dubai lies the serene and otherworldly Lahbad Desert, known for its striking red sand dunes. A world away from the city lights, this desert gives a surprisingly accessible escape into darkness. At night time the desert is the best place to see the stars. With little to no pollution and dry, clear air, the stars shine brilliantly. Think camel rides at sunset, traditional Bedouin dinners and stargazing by the campfire in utter silence.
Best time to go: November to February, as we can spot winter constellations like Taurus, Gemini, and Orion.

One of the darkest parks in the U.S. Nestled along the America-Mexico border in far West Texas, Big Bend feels like a world away from, well, everything. The name Tekapo comes from the Maori words 'taka' (sleeping mat) and 'Po' (night) meaning 'night sleeping place'. Tucked in the heart of New Zealand's South Island. The small lakeside town of Tekapo became a stargazing haven after Mt. John Observatory opened its doors. By 2021, following the reserve international recognition the number of visitors rocketed and tourism in the Mackenzie Region nearly doubled over the next decades. But it is not just the star, Tekapo's history also adds to its quiet charm.

Year by Year it was reaching 200,000.
