Half Moon Beach

Half Moon Beach, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Dammam, is also bustling with upscale resorts. This Arabian Gulf Bay has historically been a significant oil-producing area in Saudi Arabia. Additionally, traders in the past would load up their vehicles with salt from a nearby mine and draw into the cove at the center of the western shore, which is today a housing development. This salt would either be sent off to India or Africa in exchange for other trade goods.

Today it is well-known for its sailing and fishing opportunities. The bay's shallow waters are forgiving hence every one takes a plunge here. You can also see little dinghies and bigger yachts bobbing around in the bay. An ideal place to scuba dive for a good time with marine life. On rare occasions, one can spot sharks at a distance. Fun fact - a 30-foot-tall whale had also strayed into the region in 1968!
