Even though Dubrovnik is not particularly well-known for its hiking, the city is extremely well-known for its beautiful old town, gorgeous beaches, and iconic views of the Dalmatian coast.

There is only one path in Dubrovnik, but it is worth your time to investigate it. This hike up Mount Srd offers stunning views of Dubrovnik, especially in the evening when the sun is setting behind the city.

At the peak, in addition to a sizable cross, you'll find the Panorama Restaurant, which offers stunning panoramas of the Old Town and the Homeland War Museum.

You'll be able to see this steep and predominant ridge almost anywhere you go in the town:

Mount Srd, also spelled Mount Serdj and pronounced ''serdge,'' is the mountain that rises directly behind Dubrovnik. It stands at 412 meters and is located on the periphery of the Dinaric Alps. The road leading to the summit is completely paved. Still, it is difficult to navigate due to its narrow sections that are inaccessible to two vehicles traveling in the same direction at the same time and its excruciatingly steep sections that reach a maximum gradient of 15% through some of the ramps.

On this road, not only is the scenery stunning, but the sense of freedom is unmatched, and there is an abundance of clean air to breathe:

The summit is home to several structures, including the famous Imperial fortress (Utvrda Imperijal), which was constructed between 1806 and 1816 during the Napoleonic Wars, a communication tower, a restaurant, the Homeland War Museum, and a massive cross.

Between 1991 and 1995, the Museum of the Patriotic War featured a total of 500 exhibits.

When you get to the top, you will be astounded by the breathtaking views of the Old City of Dubrovnik, the emerald Adriatic Sea, and the countless islands:

At the very top of Srd Hill, you will find some of the most breathtaking panoramas of Dubrovnik and the surrounding area.

After its construction in 1969, the Dubrovnik Cable Car has quickly become a popular way for millions of tourists to experience some of the city's most breathtaking panoramic views.
