Hayy Jameel is developed and managed by Art Jameel, a not-for-profit organization that is committed to promoting the arts, education and heritage in the Middle East. The term 'Hayy' is translated as 'neighborhood' from Arabic, mirroring the vision of the center to develop a community-led creative hub. Art Jameel's new center, located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, opened on 6 December, 2021. Hayy Jameel, the Kingdom's home for arts, is crafted by multi-award-winning architects at Waiwai and envisioned as a vibrant, creative, community space. Since its launch, Hayy Jameel has become a cultural flagship destination, hosting art shows, film screenings, educational workshops and global partnerships. The centre houses art galleries, exhibition spaces, a theater, studios, and learning spaces, and therefore a dynamic space for contemporary art, film, and creative exploration. Hayy Jameel also hosts a variety of workshops, performances and community events, and a hub for artistic innovation in Saudi Arabia.
